From joining the Technical Department to the creation and development of the After-Sales department, his journey tells not only the story of a person’s professional evolution but also the growth of the company itself
Gianni, let’s start from the beginning: how did you come to Berti?
I joined Berti as a designer in the Technical Department. It was a very specific role that allowed me to get to know the machines in detail, their components, and all the design care behind them. It was a crucial training ground: understanding how the equipment is built has helped me immensely over the years that followed.
Then you gained experience in the spare parts department, an important moment in your career…
Yes, definitely. Together with Luigi Gassa, we started from scratch what was then a brand-new department. I really handled everything: orders, preparing spare parts, managing the internal store, and even shipping to customers. It was a very intense period, but also full of satisfaction.
At a certain point, the After-Sales Office was created. That’s where you are still today. How did it go?
With the company’s expansion and the increasing number of machines on the market, a dedicated support structure was needed. That’s how the After-Sales office was born, and I was its first member. I brought all the experience I had accumulated over the years, both technically and practically. My goal has always been the same: to provide clear, fast, and concrete answers to customers. I still work with the same philosophy today.
Colleagues and customers consider you a true “technical memory” and a point of reference. What does that mean to you?
It is certainly a great satisfaction. I always try to be available and find a solution, even in the most complicated cases. Knowing the machines in depth helps a lot, but the most important thing is to remain calm, clear-headed, and collaborative. Knowing that colleagues and customers trust me is the best recognition I could receive.
Who is Gianni outside the office?
In my free time I try to recharge my energy… without much success. I walk to feel sporty, I watch TV series to appear up to date, and I cook to delude myself into thinking I’m a chef. Then a dinner with friends and everything passes. In short: little things that, in the end, make a difference.
What do these 25 years at Berti represent for you?
They represent growth, trust, and many people with whom I have shared an important journey. I have seen the company evolve, change, grow… and knowing that I have contributed too is a great satisfaction. Twenty-five years have passed, but the enthusiasm remains the same.
